Her awesome voice brought tears to the eyes of multiple Grammy winner Regina Belle in 2009 and Fantasia Barrino in 2010 at the Barbados Music Awards. Her full figure inspire “ complete” ladies in Barbados to be bold and sassy. Her fan base is growing and her name is now synonymous with vocals power and excellence. Who is she?

She is Ria Borman, and she has hit the stage as the supporting act for US multi-platinum R&B star Tevin Campbell and has shared the stage with Fantasia Barrino. When the Barbadian based artist Borman burst into song at the Ultimate Soul Weekend in 2009, the audience of over two thousand patrons stood on their feet for a standing ovation, which began as she rendered the Dame Shirley Bassey classic Gold Finger, and went into fever pitch as she obliterated Chaka Khan’s” I’m Every Woman” ( The Whitney Houston Version) unplugged, Joining Borman on stage was Kareen Clarke and Paula Hinds, arguably Barbados’ best female vocalists-the point was made.
Local, Regional and International Bookings for the voluptuous beauty have been consistent since January 2009, according to her local booker Ronnie Morris of Gold Coast Records and International booker in the USA. “She is being booked for major, classy events in Shanghai, London, NYC and Toronto. Local clients includes, The US Embassy, Barbados Tourism Board, Sandy Lane Hotel, Fairmont Royal Pavilion and numerous others are requesting her presence, and the response has been awesome. I believe her most memorable performances thus far have been performing with Fantasia Barrino at the Barbados Music Awards, Jazz at Holders, Ultimate Soul weekend, The Caribbean Fashion Awards in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean Music Awards and certainly the tribute to his Excellency Ryan Braithwaite at the Kensington oval, where she sang Impossible Dream, which ironically, was Tevin Campbell’s single for the 1996 Atlanta Olympic compilation CD”. Personal Management By Rodney Powers of Unique Productions Worldwide, Ria is currently preparing her solo single for radio, as she is featured on several releases this year, but all duets, including her collaboration with Universal Motown recording artiste Hal Linton.
